From Survival to Enlightenment: Tarot and Human Spiritual Development
Today we will embark on a fascinating journey on the waves of spiritual development. This journey leads us to a deeper understanding of ourselves, to discover our inner wisdom and to connect with the divine source. We will explore how the Tarot system can be an important tool on the path of our evolution and self-discovery. The Tarot is not just cards, it is a universe of knowledge that opens the door to a world of spiritual enquiry and a deeper understanding of the self.
The Conscious Journey of the Soul
The spiritual path is a continuous process of growth and transformation. Incarnating on earth, every soul strives for evolution, for cognition of itself and the world. Understanding our place in this world and realising the tasks we face are important steps on the path of spiritual development. We can conditionally distinguish seven levels of spiritual development. These levels are not a strict framework, but rather a reference point that helps us to understand where we are on our path and what tasks we have before us.
Stages of Spiritual Development
Each stage of a soul’s spiritual development is important and unique. At each of them we face new challenges and lessons that help us grow and develop.
Red Level: The Beginning of the Path The red level is the starting point, the foundation on which our spiritual building is built. At this stage, the soul learns how to survive in the material world. The task here is simple, but extremely important: to provide oneself with security and stability. It is important to learn how to take care of ourselves, to acquire basic skills that will help us feel secure in this world. At this level, many of us seek stability, avoid change, and seek comfort in everyday life.
Orange Level: Exploring the World When the soul has learnt the lessons of the red level, it moves on to the next stage, the orange level. This is where curiosity, the desire to learn more about the world, takes centre stage. The soul begins to actively explore the surrounding reality, having a thirst for new experiences and knowledge. At this stage, we are beckoned by the diversity of the world, eager to try everything it has to offer. We discover many opportunities, try out different areas of life and enjoy the experience.
Yellow Level: Achieving Goals The next stage, the yellow level, is a time for concentration and achieving goals. Here the soul learns to direct its will and energy to achieve the goals. At this level we begin to realise the importance of concentration, determination and self-discipline. We learn to choose the path on which we can achieve mastery and not to give up on trivialities. The desire to become the best in one’s field, to achieve recognition and success becomes the driving force at this stage.
Green Level: Trust and Interaction with Higher Powers The green level is an important turning point on the path of spiritual growth. This is where the soul moves from individual goals to interacting with higher powers. This is the stage where we learn to trust God, the Universe, our inner voice. We begin to realise that the world is not just a place to fulfil our desires, but a living being with whom we can and must interact. At this stage we learn to listen to the will of the higher forces and follow the path they point out.
The Blue Level: Creation and Participation in the Creation of the World The Blue Level is the highest stage of spiritual growth, when the soul becomes a participant in the creation of the world. At this stage, we are no longer just following the will of God, but are actively participating in creation. We begin to see how our thoughts, intentions and actions affect the surrounding reality. We become conduits of divine light, helping others to find their way and realise their dreams.
Dark-blue level: deep awareness of one’s spiritual nature One begins to realise that one is not just a part of the world, but a creator of it. This is the level of deep connection with the higher self, where the soul becomes an active conductor of the divine will and begins to bring light and wisdom into the world.
Violet level: the highest stage of spiritual development The soul reaches full unity with the divine beginning. Here a person becomes a true teacher, an enlightened being who by his presence and actions helps other souls on their path of evolution.
Tarot as a tool for spiritual growth
Now that we have learnt the basic stages of spiritual development, let’s look at how the Tarot system can help us along the way. Tarot is not just a card for divination, it is a powerful tool that allows us to look deep inside ourselves, to understand our true needs and the challenges we face.
Tarot as a map of the spiritual path
Imagine that you have a map in front of you, on which all the important places and turns on your path are marked. This map is the Tarot system. By studying Tarot, you get the opportunity to see exactly where you are on the path of spiritual growth, what challenges you are facing and what lessons need to be learnt. Tarot cards not only help us navigate life situations, but also give us a deeper understanding of why these situations are happening.
Tarot as a helper in solving problems
Each Tarot card is a symbol that carries an important message. When we face difficulties, Tarot cards can help us to see them from a new perspective, to understand what lessons we need to learn from these situations. Tarot helps us realise what qualities we need to develop in order to move forward, and what attachments we need to leave behind.
Obstacles in the way: Tails of levels
On the path of spiritual growth, each of us may encounter so-called ‘tails’ – these are attachments to subpersonalities of previous levels that hinder our further development. These tails can manifest in a variety of ways, from fears and doubts to a desire to hold on to control or avoid responsibility.
Red Level Tails As we prepare to move to the orange level, our red level fears and attachments can hold us back. At this stage, fear of change and the desire to stay safe can be major obstacles. We may feel a strong desire to remain stable, avoid risk and change, which prevents us from opening ourselves up to the new experiences and opportunities that come with the orange level.
Orange Level Tails At the yellow level, we need to focus on achieving specific goals, but attachments to the orange level can manifest as a desire for variety and a desire for effortless pleasure. We may feel tempted to dissipate our energy into many different projects without completing any of them. It is important to realise that this stage requires focus and discipline to achieve true mastery and success.
Yellow Level Tails When we move into the green level, we may be held back by yellow level attachments expressed as a desire for power and control. At this stage, it can be difficult to give up the desire to control situations and achieve our goals at all costs. However, to move to the green level, one must learn to let go of control and trust in higher powers, to allow the Universe to guide us to the highest good.
Green Level Tails At the green level, we learn to trust and interact with higher powers, but attachments to this level can manifest as an excessive desire to please or be helpful to everyone around us. We may feel a strong desire to help others, even if it is at the expense of our own development and well-being. At this stage it is important to realise that true service comes from a balance between our own needs and the needs of those around us.
Blue Level Tails As we move towards the higher, blue level, we have to overcome the attachments associated with idealism and perfectionism. At this stage, there can be a desire to create an ideal world and complete conformity to divine laws, which can lead to disappointment if reality does not match our expectations. It is important to learn to see the divine in all aspects of life, even in imperfections, and to accept the world as it is, continuing to contribute to its transformation with love and wisdom.
How Tarot helps you overcome obstacles
Tarot is a tool that helps us realise and overcome these obstacles. When we begin to see our attachments and fears, we can work with them, freeing ourselves from them and moving on. Tarot helps us to understand the challenges we face at each stage of spiritual growth and gives us clues as to how best to address them.
Using Tarot for good
Tarot divination can be a powerful tool for our spiritual growth if we use it with the intention of deepening our understanding of ourselves and our lives. It is important to remember that Tarot is not just a way to get answers to questions, but also an opportunity to look into your soul, to see your true desires and fears.
Asking the right questions
When we turn to Tarot, it is important to ask the right questions. Instead of asking what the future holds, it is better to ask what the current situation is teaching us, what lessons we can learn from it, and how we can best move forward.
Tarot as a mirror of the soul
Tarot is a mirror that reflects our true desires, fears and aspirations. When we work with Tarot, we have the opportunity to see ourselves from a new perspective, to understand what drives us at the moment, and to make more informed decisions. The Tarot system is an invaluable tool for those seeking a path to spiritual growth and self-discovery. May this ancient knowledge help you to unlock all aspects of your being, free yourself from unnecessary attachments and move forward on the path of light and love. Remember that every card, every situation in your life is not just an accident, but part of a great design that leads you to spiritual awakening. Use the Tarot with respect, love and awareness and it will open doors to your higher self.
