Man, Soul and Body: Reflections on the Spiritual Nature of Man
Today I want to talk to you about one of the most profound and important topics – about man, his soul and body. This question often causes a lot of reflection, and each of us during our life more than once thinks about who we are, where we came from and where we are going.
A person is more than just a body
Let’s start with the basics: a human being is not just a physical body that we can see and touch. Although our body is an amazing and complex mechanism, it is only one part of our essence. The body allows us to interact with the world, to feel, to experience joy and pain, but it is not our true self. The true essence of a human being is the soul. The soul is the part of us that is beyond time and space. It exists whether we are alive or dead in the physical sense. The soul is our inner world, our character, our desires and aspirations. It is connected to a higher, spiritual world that is beyond material reality.
Three views on the moment of soul-body union
There are several views on when the soul joins the body. Each of them is interesting and important in its own way:
- The fusion of soul and body at the moment of conception is one of the common views, which states that the soul comes to a person immediately after conception. At this moment, the first cell of the new organism appears, and the soul that will develop with the body is united with it.
- The fusion of soul and body at the moment of birth is another view that suggests that the soul only comes into the body at the moment of birth, when the child first breathes in air and begins independent life.
- The merger of soul and body on the 8th-10th day after conception is a scientific approach, which is based on the fact that about a week after conception an important event takes place: the resetting of epigenetic information transferred from the parents and the beginning of the formation of new, unique epigenetics inherent only to this person. At this point, according to some, the merger of the soul with the body takes place.
Each of these approaches has its own grounds and can be useful for thinking about what it means to be human.
The influence of the mind and body on our lives
Human life is a constant interaction of soul and body. Our actions, thoughts, decisions – all this is the result of the work of both body and soul. For example, our physical health affects our mood and perception of the world, and our spiritual state determines how we will treat life, people, and ourselves. It is often the balance between soul and body that determines the quality of our lives. The health of the body is important, but the health of the soul, its development and harmony with the body is the basis for a happy and fulfilling life.
After death: the soul’s return home
Death is not the end, but only a transition to another form of being. After the body ceases its work, the soul returns to its native, spiritual world. However, sometimes souls linger in our world because of attachments, fears or unfinished business. We call this phenomenon ‘souls of the dead,’ and such souls need help to complete their journey and return home.
Conclusion
A human being is an amazing being that combines both the material and the spiritual. Understanding this helps us to better realise our life, our goals and objectives. It is important to remember that each of us is unique, and our souls came into this world with a specific purpose. Develop your soul, take care of your body, and then your life will be filled with meaning and harmony.
